Comparing Campaign Costs

Capital Campaign Consulting

For a campaign campaign services engagement, many of the "big name" companies charge $25,000 or more for the smaller churches, from $50,000 to $90,000 for moderate to large size churches, and can go well over $100,000 for larger churches.

Feel free to Price Comparisons  |  Getting Started contact us for a list of capital campaign firms to call to ask about their pricing & process. You will learn two things from those calls, the Abundant Giving Capital Campaign is an amazing value, and the process these firms describe on how they run a capital campaign varies very little, because as the saying goes, everyone is singing out of the same hymn book. You can also request a competitive analysis comparing Abundant Giving to ISS/MAX Campaign University that we believe is highly informative.

Seminars and Workshops

We are starting to see more workshops and seminars on capital campaigns.  What you should to keep in mind is that there is very little likelihood that a vender will deliver the knowledge you need in a one or two day seminar that costs $2,000- $3,000 (plus travel) when they normally charge $10's of thousands of dollars to do the same thing in a consulting engagement.  If it was that easy to convey, they wouldn't have been charging the large fees that they have for all these years.

A $2,500 seminar may end up costing well over $3,000 with travel and living expenses.  At the end of the seminar, the person or persons that went will need to try to remember and teach what they learned to others in the church. Sadly many seminars are just paid infomercials where the vender is trying to up-sell you on the full consulting engagement while imparting a modicum of information.

Capital Campaign "Lite"

At least one well-known capital campaign firm is offering a "lite" version of their capital campaign, and others will probably follow suit.  On paper, these programs are aimed at smaller and startup churches, however, your church would be well advised to get a detailed list of what it gets (and the cost) and compare it to our complete capital campaign in a box offering.

Large corporations that have been charging large fees will have a difficult time retooling to low profit margin programs, and this type of offering is neither their core business or primary focus. The church would be wise to take the time to separate the marketing rhetoric from reality.
